Kat Liebschwager Interiors
About Kat
  1. It's your house...it should reflect your personality & style, not
    mine.
  2. Start with a clean slate...I draw each room to scale and build
    up from there
  3. Gotta love it...I will come up with the ideas, but you gotta love
    it or its out!
  4. Take Risks...I'll push you a little...nervous butterflies are a
    good thing!
  5. Keep it Consistent...look at the whole house as one.
  6. Don't Overdecorate...I try to mix new pieces with things you
    already have.
I started Kat Liebschwager Interiors in 2004...it's been a great journey.

My husband Mike and I moved to Richmond in 1998.  I was pursuing a
career in Marketing and had worked for S&K Menswear, Suntrust and
Play.  Mike was in Corporate America. Our goal was to save like crazy
and retire at age 50.  But, in 2002, Mike’s mother died unexpectedly
which caused us to re-evaluate our careers and ask…are we doing
things that we love doing?

The advertising industry had been hit hard following 9/11.  After the
discussion with Mike about “pursuing things we love…”, I decided to
become involved in interior design.  I took classes, studied, worked at
a local design firm and then launched my own firm.  In 2006, we
decided to further expand and opened
Ruth & Ollie, a home furnishings
store in Richmond that Mike manages.

I truly love what I do now!
Kat about Design
People ask me all the time...what is your design style.  My
personal style is really quite eclectic.  I love mixing patterns
and color and pieces that have a "funky" vibe
.
BUT,
thats my personal style.

Each project I take on is different.  However, my approach to
each project is the same...some call this a Design
Philosophy...but that sounds too stuffy for me.  So, here are
Kat's Design Rules to Live by
